Make It Monday #64 – Colors

Well, it’s not everyday that I know what I want to do right after I see a technique video or what not. I saw the color inspiration pictures and the video for Make It Monday from Nichole Heady and I wanted to use the Guidelines stamp set again.

These are the colors that I tried to follow:

Another attempt with Guidelines stamp set, but at an angle.  Honestly, I would’ve never thought of using these colors together!

Make It Monday #63 – Mr & Mrs

Following Heather’s Make It Monday with glitter die cuts. I just can’t work with glitter – it gets everywhere. I needed a wedding card, so I thought, why not? But I really really dislike this card.  Something really annoys me here.  Perhaps it’s how the card opens up.

Mr & Mrs

I also did a customized card for a friend who needed a birthday card. She requested the Canucks logo with #14 for Burrows. I thought of doing a jersey-like card with a #14 on the back of the card.

Birthday - Canucks

The logo was another nightmare after the ferris wheel. I skipped a few colors so the logo would be a bit simpler to make, but at the same time, still preserve some of the details. I first sketched out the logo and paper pieced each part together.

Birthday - Canucks Sketch

I suppose I’ll retake the pictures of the card. The quality of these photos are horrible!!

MIM #63 card – Used: Papertrey Ink (Smokey Shadow cardstock, White cardstock, Beautiful Butterflies stamp set & die, Alpha Block dies, Script Alphabet dies) | Stampin’ Up (Elegant Eggplant ink, dimensionals) | A Muse (Heather ink, Currant ink) | Martha Stewart (glitter) | Others (rinestones)

Canucks card – Used: Papertrey Ink (Enchanted Evening cardstock, Simply Chartreuse cardstock, Blueberry Sky cardstock, White cardstock)

Papertrey April Blog Hop Challenge

A last minute card for Papertrey Ink’s April Blog Hop Challenge.  I definitely had problems coming up with a card from the inspirational picture.  I guess my card doesn’t even come close to the photo *facepalm* But when I saw the damask patterns on the photo, I immediately thought of the damasks from Guidelines stamp set.  The colors I used were actually pink and blue, but came off darker and red-er after some heat embossing – and maybe some photo quality manipulation contributed to the colors being skewed. Must try again!

First time using the Guidelines stamp set, and they’re easier to line up than I thought!

CFC 49 – One More Try

I’m going to try again for CAS-ual Friday Challenge‘s sketch. So close to being a one layer card, but I just had to pop up a hat with some dimensionals. I think I’ve cut over 20 hats already. Definitely wish I had a die cut for this.

Graduate Dreams

A close up of the card – Any one layer (or almost one layer) card just calls for embossing :)

Graduate Dreams - Close Up

Used: Papertrey Ink (White cardstock, Orange Zest ink, Harvest Gold ink, Smokey Shadow Ink, For the Graduate stamp set) | Jenni Bowlin (Chicken Feed ink) | Stampin’ Up (Summer Sun ink, dimensionals)

CFC 49 – Pink Sketch

I’ve never been good with following sketches.  CASE-ing cards is ok, but following the sketch the the CASE-ed card was based on?  I just can’t do it.  Except this time.  This time, I followed the sketch from CAS-ual Friday and *attempted* to make a card based on the sketch.

I like each element that I put on the card, but somehow, something just doesn’t look right.  Perhaps too clean and too simple?  Hmm… I’ll think of something later :)

Hello Pinky

Used: Papertrey Ink (Rustic White cardstock, Trendy Tree Tops stamp set, Rustic White twine) | Stampin’ Up (dimensionals, Cameo Coral ink) | S.E.I. (pattern paper) | Others (felt)
