Hello Butterfly

January 14, 2013

Paper Smooches’ Sparks Challenge with a sketch challenge this week. I’m not really good with following sketches, but the design team’s inspiration was enough to get me started on the card this week.

And yay for a new stamp set 🙂 During my short trip to Hong Kong at the beginning of the year, I went to one of Paper Smooches retailers in Hong Kong and found a lot of stamps from many manufacturers including Paper Smooches & Lawn Fawn. One of the stamp sets that I got was Flap Happy which is absolutely adorable!

Hello Butterfly

I did a little something different. I stamped the sentiment with the butterfly resting on it and cut the sentiment and butterfly out, leaving the butterfly wings hollow as well.

Love this card, the way that pattern paper peeks throught the vellum banners is so cool and creative. The way you cut sentiment and the hollowed wings butterfly is amazing.

What a wonderful way to show off some pretty PP while diminishing its boldness. Vellum strips. Flapping in the wind. And the cut-out flutterby allowing more PP to peek through. Very, VERY creative design.
