For my project, I decided to do a very simple one layer postcard that would be very mail-friendly. I love going back to postcards nowadays, complete with those vintage stamps and a simple handlettered message.

I started by stamping the buildings from one of Mama Elephant’s October release set – City Sidewalks. I masked off the buildings to blend the distress inks in. I flicked some opaque paint and water to the ink to give it the effect of snow.

On the back, I stamped a few lines for where I would put the mailing address. Remember how all the postcards have a line in the middle separating the address from the message? Well, I decided to imitate that using the dotted die from Fine Trimmings!

Hello everyone! I’m on the blog with a project for Mama Elephant‘s October release! Hope you’ve enjoyed all the product introductions and the stamp highlights for the past month or so!

Today, I made a simple Christmas card using the stamp set City Sidewalks, definitely one of my favourites from the release (PS, my other favourite is Pix’s Holidays!)

I started blending a combination of blue, turquoise and light yellow for a very simple sky. To create the stars, I flicked some water so that the distress inks would react to the water. I also flicked some white ink onto the card base for stars.

I coloured the buildings in some very basic colours using my copics. I picked pink, turquoise and yellow since they were related to the primary colours and would contrast nicely against each other.

I finished the card off by adhering the trees on both sides of the building. To create some dimensions, I gave some foam tape to the trees in front. Finished off with a simple yet fun sentiment from the same stamp set as well as the smokey “Merry” coming out from the chimney!

Welcome back to another Product Highlight – and this is my favourite creative cut released in Mama Elephant‘s October release. This standalone die is just perfect for Christmas! Too much washi tapes in your room? Use this little Gable Box to package up some washi tape and gift it to your friends!

I created a little box using some pattern paper. Using the rectangular die cut, I cut out a little window and adhered a piece of acetate with stars on it for a fun peak into the little box.

Here’s a little close up of the box! I managed to squeeze in 4 rolls of medium sized washi tapes.

To finish off my little gift, I used the fun open door square frame from Framed Tags – Union Square to create a little tag. I continued the little houses theme by using City Sidewalks on the front, paired up with a sentiment from Retro Holiday Labels. Loving how they can all mix and match!

Woot! Welcome back to another day over at Mama Elephant‘s October release stamp highlights! Today we’ll be looking at Retro Holiday Labels. This is my go-to stamp set for stamping inside my Christmas cards now! But of course, they work wonderfully on the outside of the card as well.

I blended another one of those “dreamy” backgrounds with a star bokeh this time. This star is actually just a die cut from Pix’s Happy Holiday creative cuts. You can make it out of any shaped die cuts! I took the fireplace from Merry Mantle and paired it up with Santa Pix from Pix’s Happy Holiday.

I thought this sentiment from the Retro Holiday Labels was just perfect in describing the special “delivery” that Pix is bringing from the North Pole so I stamped it just above the fireplace, as if it was a vinyl decoration on the wall.

Good morning and happy Monday! We’re kicking the week off with another one of Mama Elephant’s October release stamp set – Pix’s Happy Holidays. This one is a follow up to Pix’s Favorites, but she’s back all dressed up for the holidays!

My favourite is definitely Angel Pix. I love the little halo on her bunny ear and the little banner that she’s holding up. There’s just enough room for you to scribble a few words on the banner, which is what I did on this card.

Of course, I had to make a shaker Christmas card, because it’s not really the holidays without faux snow! I die cut a window using the scallop circle from All Prettied up creative cuts. I adhered a few stars (also from the same Pix’s Happy Holidays stamp set!) onto the shaker card to make it look like those stars are floating in the air.

Welcome back! I have another project to share for Mama Elephant’s big October release! Today we’ll be taking a closer look at Merry Mantle, another adorable release for this month!

I did a little bokeh effect coming out from the fireplace by masking off circles, reblending, adding more masks and reblending the colours. I went with some soft pinks, yellows and blues to make it softer looking.

I had so much fun just building my Christmas scene with these little critters and the ornaments in the stamp set!

Welcome back! I have another project to share for Mama Elephant’s big October release! This isn’t a stamp, but a very versatile die that I just love from this release! I love the curly bracket die cut from the Framed Tags: Union Square because it’s a perfect fancy frame to frame a little scene built from Mama Elephant’s stamps!

I first blended my colours onto the card base and then adhered the frame on top. This is just the perfect size for me to fit little Pix and the Christmas tree in there!

Mama Elephant - Union Square

I decorated the frame by adhering a little garland of ornaments from Merry Mantle. I just love how well all these stamps work together!
